On Feb 13, 2026, Katie Beth Hand from Arkansas reported her personal experience with the Eledon islet cell transplant clinical trial.

Katie Beth received her islet cell transplant in mid-January. By mid-February, Katie Beth reports that her blood sugar is in range 99% of the day. She is taking zero basal insulin and needs only a few units of bolus insulin per day.

Instead of traditional immunosuppression drugs, Eledon developed its own therapy, an ANTI-CD40L drug, that targets a very specific part of the immune system’s attack on the cells in your pancreas that produce insulin. Eledon is NOT recruiting at this time.
