20 Percent Reduction in Post-Meal Blood Sugar

Compared to rapid-acting injectable insulin, Mannkind’s inhaled insulin, Afrezza, was significantly more effective in preventing high blood sugars after eating. the 17-week study included a 13-week extension, with 141 participants aged 18 and older. Participants were using injections, closed-loop pumps, or manual insulin pumps, then some were randomly assigned to use inhaled insulin for all mealtime insulin. Complete study results will be shared on June 22, 2024 at the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions.
