The COUR PHARMA study is the first clinical trial in the US testing CNP-103 in humans. It’s currently enrolling teens and adults:
- Ages 12 to 35 years old
- Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the last 6 months
What Does the Study Involve?
The CNP-103 clinical trial lasts about 13 months and includes up to 10 visits to a participating study site. The study has three parts:
- Screening: The study team will review your health and medical history to see if the trial may be a good fit. If you choose to participate, you’ll complete the consent process with the study team. A parent or guardian must provide consent for participants under 18.
- Study treatment: You’ll receive either CNP-103 or a placebo through an IV infusion. Participants are approximately two to three times more likely to receive CNP-103. You’ll also attend regular visits for lab work, questionnaires, health checks, and other testing.
- Intravenous infusions: You’ll receive up to 5 infusions during the first 9 months of the trial. Each infusion of CNP-103 takes approximately 4 hours, and the study team will monitor you closely.
- Diabetes technology: You will wear a CGM provided to you by the trial. You will not be able to see the data from your CGM. It will be shared privately with the clinical trial. Participants can continue wearing their usual CGM in addition to the trial CGM or monitor glucose levels with a blood glucose monitor.
- Follow-up: After your final treatment, the study team will continue monitoring your health through additional testing and follow-up visits.
